The Georgia Tech Procurement Assistance Center is sponsoring a series of free classes in September, October and November to help your business become more successful in the governmnet contracting arena.  Best of all, the classes are taught right here in Dougherty County!

The Georgia Tech Procurement Assistance Center is launching a brand new class in July and you won’t want to miss it.

On July 18th at 11:00 am you can come and learn all about “What is a “Capabilities Statement”? – and Why You Should Have One!”

In order to effectively market yourself in the government sector, you should have a good corporate résumé. Government agencies call this a Capabilities Statement.

A Capabilities Statement should contain information to tell buyers why you’re an expert and why they should feel confident about awarding you a contract.

Our July 18th workshop provides instruction on how to write a good Capabilities Statement, including all the right ingredients. If you are looking for help with how to present your company to government decision-makers, then attending this workshop is a must.

Small business office changes locations

The Dougherty Small Business Office is now located on the first floor at 125 Pine Avenue in Albany.

All counseling and training sessions will be offered at this new location.

Understand government contracting by attending free classes

Need to know what it takes to do business with the government?  Wondering what to expect and how to market your business?

These questions and much more will answered at several free classes being offered in April, May and June.

If you need basic instruction on how to get set-up to do business with government agencies, then you should plan to attend “Fundamentals of Doing Business with the Government.”  This class is being offered once a month; simply click on one of these dates to register: April 3, May 1, and June 8.

Start off your New Year right by planning to attend three classes that will help you learn how to succeed in the government marketplace!

Three free classes are already scheduled for January 2012, and you will benefit from attending them.  They are:

Business Development in the Government Market – 6:00-8:00 pm – Jan. 10th

Subcontracting with Large Prime Contractors – 11:00 am – 1:00 pm – Jan. 11th

Fundamentals of Working with the Government – 6:00-8:00 pm – Jan. 19th

Please notice that two of these classes are scheduled to be conducted in the evening, so that they won’t interfere with your regular business day.

Each of the classes are being held in the 1st floor conference room of the Albany Microbusiness Enterprise Center, located at 230 S. Jackson St., Albany, GA 31701-2885.

Free classes conveniently held in the evening, on weekends, during lunch hour, and on-line

To better accomodate your busy work schedule, our government contracting classes are now scheduled after hours and during the lunch hour on weekdays as well as on Saturdays.  And some classes are now being offered on-line, so you don’t even have to leave your home or office to attend.
